Play 3D DS Games Now… well soon

Our first look at the Nintendo 3DS  is still a few months away at E3 and our chance to play it is around a year away but we don’t need to wait till then to experience 3D on our handhelds. Rittai Kakushi e Attakoreda (which means something along the lines of Hidden 3D Image: There It Is) won’t make images pop out at you like the next generation console will, but it gives an fantastic sense of depth in a brilliantly imaginative way.

Using the camera to track the console or player’s movement shifts the 3D area in the game. This recreates the feeling of being able to look behind objects by moving your head. The aim of the game is to find hidden letters in a picture. The letters may not be in one piece and you’ll need to view the screen from a particular angle to align the parts of the letter to make it look whole. While hidden object games aren’t always the most exciting (although they do have a large and rapidly increasing following), this game is without a doubt the best and most creative use of the DSi cameras to date.

Rittai Kakushi e Attakoreda is on sale for 500 points in the DSi Shop. Currently it isn’t confirmed outside of Japan but hopefully an international release will follow.
